Project Configuration

Scoped Configuration

Directory, Workforce, Permissions, Data Standards, Customization, and Workflow Management at the project level, plus inheritance and overrides.

What is it?

The project replicates the same configuration sections as the company — Directory, Workforce, Permissions, Data Standards, Customization, and Workflow Management — but with scope limited to the project. See Company Configuration for the detailed description of each subsection.

Inheritance and overrides

By default a project doesn't start empty — it automatically inherits everything the company has already set up: the directory, roles, fieldsets, and workflows. From there you can adapt whatever you need:

  • Project override — Any inherited element can be changed just for this project, without affecting any other project of the company.
  • Permission Overrides — You can give a user different permissions inside a specific project than the ones they have at company level.
  • Team Assignments — You assign members to the project and give each one the role they will play on that particular job.

How to use it

  1. Open the project and go to Project Configuration.
  2. Review each section (Directory, Workforce, Permissions, Data Standards, Customization, Workflow Management) — by default they show the inherited company data.
  3. Override only the elements that need to differ for this project.
  4. Use Permission Overrides and Team Assignments to tailor access and roles to the project.

Overriding at the project level never affects the company configuration or other projects. See Scope & Inheritance for the full inheritance rules.
