Drawings
- Define a clear naming convention for drawing numbers and stick to it.
- Always upload a new revision instead of replacing a file, so history and superseded drawings are preserved.
- Distribute drawing sets via packages rather than individual files.
BIM Models
- Structure federations by discipline (architecture, structure, MEP) for clear coordination.
- Agree on an update frequency so the federated model stays current.
- Use revision comparison to detect changes between model versions.
Submittals
- Organize submittals by trade and use packages for related items.
- Configure workflows that match the contract, and set realistic review deadlines.
RFIs
- Open an RFI for formal clarifications, not for informal questions better handled by email.
- Write a clear, self-contained question and set a realistic due date.
Correspondence
- Use correspondence for official communications that must leave a documented trail.
- Classify and archive consistently so records are easy to retrieve.
Punch Items
- Register defects on site with photo and location.
- Assign priorities consistently and define clear closure criteria with a final approver.
Permissions
- Apply the principle of least privilege: grant the minimum access each profile needs.
- Use permission groups instead of per-user configuration and review access periodically.
